Urgent Casting Call: Puppeteers/Physical actors to be part of our new Arena-Touring Show - Apply now!

Cirque du Soleil  is seeking male or female puppeteers/physical actors to embody characters and animate different creatures of the AVATAR universe for its new arena-touring show inspired by the world of James Cameron history-making motion picture, AVATAR. 

Duration of contract: 1 year starting November 2015, with an annual renewal option.

Character traits: Male or female; 18 year or older; Height: 5’7” and up (1.70 m and up); Slim build. Requirements: Ability to portray character traits; Professional puppeteer with good physical acting skills; Experience in manipulating life-size and giant puppets controlled by two or more puppeteers, a must; Excellent ability to manipulate any object; Good physical condition; Solid and varied stage experience; Any other performing art skills, an asset; Not afraid of heights. Submissions instructions If you meet the requirements above, please submit your application, including: Your resumé; Two photos (one headshot and one full-body shot); Video excerpts of the following elements (totalling a maximum of 15 minutes): A maximum one-minute presentation to the camera: tell us your name, general background and the reasons for your interest in joining Cirque du Soleil; A three-minute act or excerpt from a puppetry performance of your choice, with the largest puppet and in solo if possible; A three-minute act or excerpt from a physical acting performance of your choice, solo if possible; A demonstration of any special or unique talents you may have (s-staff or contact juggling, aerial, dance, singing, percussions, acrobatics, kite flying, martial arts, etc.). Submission deadline: January 18, 2015.

Important informations: All complete applications (resumé/CV, photos and video demo) will be evaluated by a talent scout from the Casting team. Only selected candidates will be contacted in order to complete their application in view of potential employment.
