The most famous event in the game will be back later in the year as part of the current WoW Classic Season of Mastery which brought new servers sporting faster character progression and more challenging raids.

While World of Warcraft patch 9.2. Eternity's End, won't be the last patch to World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion (that will most likely be the already-announced patch 9.2.5) However, it will be what Blizzard has proclaimed as being the "final section" of the Shadowlands story. At long last, players will face Zovaal known as the Jailer and will attempt to put an end centuries-old plan to alter the reality of the game.

What that final battle will look like is currently a complete mystery aside even the names for the bosses that players will meet. It appears, is a bit of an underlying theme in patch 9.2 which is not just incorporated into the ultimate conclusion of the game's Sepulcher of the First Ones raid, but also in the underlying design concept behind the brand new Zereth Mortis zone. When asked in an interview conducted during an interview with P2Pah, WoW production director Pat Dawson wouldn't say. Usually by the time that the last content update for an expansion goes live players know what the next expansion will be due because of an earlier announcement, and its accompanying cinematic that Blizzard has rolled out at its regular BlizzCon event. BlizzCon isn't taking place this year, most likely due to various reasons, ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic , to ongoing discrimination and harassment investigation. No announcements regarding future expansions have been announced. There's a huge mystery hanging over patches 9.2 and the conclusion in the Shadowlands story.

For the first time in a long while gamers will head to the end of an expansion with no clue what's going to happen next with regard to the actual boss encounters themselves and the way in which the story will unfold.

"People don't know the details and they haven't heard the plot," Dawson said when asking if the ending of the latest Sepulcher of the First Ones raid could give players a clear idea of what the next expansion will be. "They aren't sure what's going to occur. It's quite a fascinating moment. In the future, we're always looking to improve things. I think right now we're focussed on the final chapter of the story and providing satisfaction to the Jailer."
