In World of Warcraft : Shadowlands, death is coming for you so you have to journey to the place where no living soul has ever gone before: the Shadowlands--basically the afterlife of the World of Warcraft universe. While on your quest, you'll encounter the Fallen, those who have lost their lives in the story to this point and discover what ended up happening to them.

In the Shadowlands the spirits undergo the cycle of death and rebirth creating a new type of world for WoW. In the new expansion, players will journey to new zones like Revendreth, Ardenweald, Maldraxxus and Bastion where you can choose a covenant and engage with brand-new dungeons or raids. "Shadowlands is an expansion built around the agency of your choice," game director Ion Hazzikostas said.

As mentioned above, the opening ceremony is generally streamed live, and is free to everyone, but most of the other events are locked behind the virtual Ticket. This year , the Virtual Ticket costs $50 and comes with extra cosmetics to each of Blizzard's most popular games. This includes skins that are exclusive to WoW and a cardback to World of Warcraft , and for the first time, skins referencing World of Warcraft in World of Warcraft .

The community is also keeping an eye the situation with particular attention this year, since Blizzard might try to react to recent controversial actions. After last year's event faced criticism after the announcement of World of Warcraft , this year, the company has banned an individual player for showing his support for Hong Kong protesters. That has resulted in a unending backlash towards the company, with a protest planned for the day. It will remain to be seen whether Blizzard has a formal response to the controversy on its panels.

Also happening during BlizzCon is a charity auction, and you don't need to attend the event to take part in. A variety of Blizzard souvenirs is available for sale to benefit CHOC Children's. The auction runs through November 5 and will continue until Ebay.
