There's one question I've been repeatedly asked during the past week as well as one I've asked myself about the situation at Blizzard and its Diablo 4, can we be sure it's likely that Diablo 4 will actually deliver with the recent events?

This is something I've had trouble withbecause, while yes, it's true, I've liked everything I've seen through Diablo 4 so far, particularly the brand new footage that was released this week, I find it difficult to put my faith in Blizzard's decision-making in recent years, and hard to just...trust Blizzard as an entire entity right now.

Even though a report from today said that an internal investigation by Activision turned into a conclusion that top executives did not do anything wrong when it came to ignoring harassment complaints, we have witnessed a lot of departures from Blizzard particularly in cases where the discrimination against women was horrendous and sometimes shocking in some cases, and have seen those accused of harassment and those accused of not doing enough to stop it be dismissed from the company. One of these even included the director of Diablo 4 Luis Barriga. I'm concerned not just about the literal people who left the company hurting development, but also in the work conditions at Blizzard more broadly, in light of the current working environment.

The 1st and 2nd of June that year the world witnessed the release of Diablo Immortal on iOS along with Android. On Android this game comes with a 3.7 out of five rating, while there is an Apple App Store rating is an 4.5 out of 5. These ratings are very good However, some of the most vocal sections of the internet, and even the press has not been nice to the app.

When Blizzard revealed the next exciting game in its Diablo game series back in 2018, fans were, well, not particularly happy. For those who were in 2018, they were expecting the Diablo IV announcement at BlizzCon. The announcement instead was for a mobile-based game called Diablo Immortals. If you watched the livestream, or feel like rewinding through the videos, you'll certainly hear more jeers than cheering.
