The Job Title of this possition - Music Operations Supervisor. The applicant Area of Interest is Entertainment Department of Carnival Cruise Line. The purpose of this position to support the Music Department and overall entertainment experience by providing direction, support, and coaching to on board music teams for all music products.

Music Operations Supervisor performs ESSENTIAL SHARED FUNCTIONS such as:

• Establish and communicate goals based on product objectives to shipboard teams and team leaders. 
• Monitor and analyze TGEM for assigned ships and, in conjunction with on board and shoreside management, develop and implement solutions for improving the quality of live music on board. 
• Inspire and build strong teams that share in department’s mission and goals. 
• Develop in-depth knowledge of guest demographics and communicate ways our product can best serve them. 
• Coach and manage the process of conducting musician performance reviews and related people management functions.
• Effectively manage change and create positive team member experience.
• Participate in and further team’s culture of guest oriented engagement and entertainment.
• Operate within assigned budget while looking for ways to decrease expense.
• Build and foster strong relationship within and outside of Entertainment Departments both shipboard and shoreside.
• Continually analyze processes and products and develop strategies for improving future results.
• Additional tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Music Operations Supervisor Music Operations Supervisor monitors TGEM for assigned ships and works with ED/CD/MD and team members to coach up products to better develop on objectives and goals. Communicates with all layers of leadership and team members to ensure proper alignment of all newly developing products. Collaborates with Music Leadership to develop and implement new music initiatives. Provides limited approval for certain team member expenses such as transportation, medicals, and baggage fees while operating within budget.

Actively assures product quality by maintaining an active presence on assigned ships. Provides amazing level of customer service and initiative to all team members. Other tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Strategic thinking to find solutions to complex problems that can balance short and long-term objectives.
• Strong understanding of the company’s entertainment product, especially its music program.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
• Education: Bachelor degree in Music or equivalent work experience is preferred.

The candidates required for following work experience:

Over 5 years working as a member of a large entertainment organization such as cruise lines, theme parks or relation organization in a customer facing role. Over 5 years working as a professional musician in large entertainment organizations such as cruise lines, theme parks, or related organization is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to analyze, understand and communicate expert level musical concepts and direction.
• Ability to coach and manage creative and artistic personalities.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills.
• Ability to work proactively and under-pressure, both individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements to work on board a cruise ship, including a pre-employment medical exam.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the year as necessary
